Stuck in Fiction
There once was a teenage boy, so bright,
With dreams that soared to great height,
He longed to make them real, to see them through,
But he was lost, and didn't know what to do.
So he turned to fiction, to worlds unknown,
And found solace in stories all his own,
He lived through the pages, in worlds so grand,
But in real life, he couldn't take a stand.
He knew he had to leave, to face his fears,
But the comfort of fiction brought him to tears,
He felt trapped, stuck in one place,
While everyone else moved at their own pace.
His friends all left, to chase their dreams,
But he stayed behind, lost in his own schemes,
He knew he had to take a step,
To live his life, and not regret.
But fear held him back, like a weight so heavy,
He couldn't break free, from the world so heady,
He longed for change, but didn't know how,
To leave the world of fiction, to live life now.
So he stayed, in a world of make-believe,
While time passed by, and he couldn't achieve,
The dreams he once had, now just a memory,
As he remained stuck, in his own reverie.
